Jose de Wit

Jose de Wit is an Associate Attorney at Rifkin & Fox-Isicoff, P.A. He practices exclusively in all areas of immigration and nationality law, including employment-, family-, and humanitarian-based petitions; waivers and inadmissibility issues; and naturalization.

In particular, Jose’s experience includes representing entrepreneurs and investors, startups, and established businesses in connection with employment-based visa applications and immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions. Jose also has extensive experience litigating immigration matters in immigration court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the federal courts, including mandamus actions to compel federal agency decisions in unreasonably delayed immigration matters and appeals from removal decisions to the federal circuit courts.

An immigrant himself, Jose’s discovered his passion for immigration law while studying at University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where he assisted clients with humanitarian-based applications as a member of the California Asylum Representation Clinic and served as Executive Editor of the Berkeley Journal of International Law. Prior to joining Rifkin & Fox-Isicoff, P.A., Jose practiced immigration law and commercial litigation at both boutique and national law firms in Florida and California. Jose was an award-winning investigative news reporter and editor before studying law, covering government corruption, police accountability, and public education for leading publications in Florida and New Mexico.
